Wellbeing
At Central Sydney Intensive English High School, we care about both learning and wellbeing. We know that when students feel safe, happy and supported, they can learn better.
Many of our students are new to Australia and are learning English as an additional language. We recognise that beginning a new school journey in a new country can be challenging. Our dedicated team is here to help your child feel welcome, settled and confident in every day.
We also work closely with parents and families to support each child’s needs.
How we support student wellbeing
We support student wellbeing in many ways, every day at school.
Our support includes:
- Friendly teachers who help students feel welcome in class
- Bilingual staff who can support families in their home language
- School counsellors and specialist staff who help students with emotional and mental health
- Programs that build social skills, confidence and positive behaviour
- Support when students start school, move to a new level, or get ready for mainstream high school
- Clear school rules about safety, kindness and respect
- Health care plans for students who need medical support
- Regular communication with families about how students are doing
We also give students chances to feel proud of their identity, culture and progress.
You are always welcome to speak to our staff if you have questions or concerns.
