The sport program provides students with opportunities to learn English in a different context as well as introducing them to the importance of sport in the curriculum and Australian culture.
Students have the opportunity to be involved in sport in a number of ways, from a recreational to representative level. Our varied sports program is designed to suit all students and their specific abilities and interests. These include:
Wednesday school sport
inter-school grade sport in the Eastern Suburbs sport zone
Combined High Schools "knock out" competitions
Eastern Suburbs zone competition in Gala days in athletics, cross country and swimming. Students who are successful at this level of competition may also participate at regional and state level
extra-curricular sport and recreational activities such as basketball training and coaching.
Students may participate in badminton, basketball, baseball, dance, soccer, swimming, table tennis, volleyball or yoga for the Wednesday sport program
School-based Learn to Swim classes are also provided in the school sport program every week for all students who need to learn to swim.
The participation, enjoyment, English and skill development of our students is the paramount focus of the school sport and physical activity program. The friendships developed through this program support students with their transition to their new school upon completion of their study at Central Sydney.
